Standards Compliance

The Shell Method is a standards-compliant, rigorous software engineering process with integrated documentation and infrastructure elements. The two most common comparisons we are asked to make are with the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) and the Quality Assurance Requirements for Nuclear Facility Applications (ASME NQA-1 2000), Subpart 2.7 (Software). Shell Method traces well to both sets of requirements.

Shell Method provides complete traceability for all of Level 2 and a substantial majority of Level 3 requirements. The remaining requirements are not project-specific; they require implementation at the organizational level, so we leave those requirements up to individual clients.
